This is an example. Eleanor Wren is not a real person, and the pictures below are drawings, not photographs. A real page carries your own words and your own photos.
In loving memory
Eleanor Wren
1934 - 2026
Eleanor taught music at Fairfield Primary for thirty-one years, and for most of that time she also ran the choir, the recorder club, and - for one memorable term - a steel band assembled from equipment nobody could account for. She is survived by her sister Margaret, her three children, and a great many people who can still play the first eight bars of something because of her.
The eulogy
I am Anna, and Eleanor was my mother. I want to start with the piano, because if you knew her at all you knew the piano.
It was out of tune from about 1987 onwards. She knew. She had a tuner's number on the fridge for twenty years and never once rang it, because she said the flat D was where the character lived. When my brother took his grade five on that piano the examiner wrote 'the candidate has clearly practised on an instrument with opinions'.
She taught the way she played - impatiently, with her whole body, stopping you four bars in to say it again but mean it. She never once told a child they were not musical. She told them they had not found their bit yet, and then she found it for them, and it was usually percussion, and it was usually loud.
In the last weeks she asked for the window open and the radio on, and she conducted. Small movements, one hand, eyes closed. Somewhere between the third and fourth movement she stopped, and my aunt said, she has gone, and I said, no, that is just the rest.
There is a rest, and then there is the rest of it. Thank you all for being the rest of it. Come back to the hall afterwards - there is far too much cake, which is exactly how she would have planned it.

Mrs Wren gave me a triangle in 1994 because I would not sing. I am now a session percussionist. I have told this story in three interviews and nobody believes the triangle part.

She lent me forty pounds for a bus fare in 2003 and refused to take it back. Told me to give it to someone else who was stuck. I have now given away about six hundred pounds on her instructions.

My sister. She was the loud one and I was the one who got told off for it. I would do it all again exactly the same way.
